TMC 2130 V3.0 are the latest generation of silent stepper motor drivers from Trinamic. Using their patented StealtChop technology, they can deliver exceptionally quiet stepper motor performance with noise levels below 10 dB.
For a perfect balance of quiet operation and maximum performance, the TMC 2130 drivers are able to automatically switch between StealthChop and SpreadCycle modes. This offers an overall better 3D printing experience with less noise, more torque, and fewer missed steps.
TMC 2130 V3.0 drivers do support Legacy and Standalone modes, but the SPI configuration is highly recommended. It will take full advantage of serial communications, offering full diagnostics and control over the stepper motors via the firmware. That means motor current and microsteps can be set arbitrarily on the fly, and combine the real and interpolated microsteps to achieve maximum torque.
